and I will be working together on a project. The incredibly talented artist, who specialises in hat design, will make a tiny little hat for one of my miniature porcelain ball jointed dolls. Since the circumference of my dolls heads is only 7.5 to 8 cm, this will be a new task for Susan. She has, until now, designed beautiful human-sized hats and hats for much larger ball jointed dolls. I have an idea for the outfit and general look of the doll, which the hat will be prepared for once Susan and I work out all the details.

I am very excited about this and very honoured! Thank you, Susan! Looking forward to the outcome… :)

The plan is to make the website multilingual and accessible for many people in many countries. Next up are German and French! :)

In the meantime- dolls in the kiln… I’ve been sitting and waiting for them to come out tonight but I think I’ll let them be and go to bed! :) My sleeping patterns have completely reversed. What can I do! I’ve always been more of a night person anyway, lol. Now it has completely ceased to matter when I wake up and when I go to sleep- I am so consumed with making dolls. But I am not overdoing it, I promise! :)

 

The above being two days ago, I can now post a few photos of some of the little doll parts that did come out of the kiln! I have to say, I am very pleased. And also- I’m in love with my kiln. Totally. In my language a kiln (the word) is masculine, so I could almost say that he is the most reliable… hmm… I’ve ever met! LOL.

 

Waaaaaay before I put them in the kiln. There’s a lot of sculpting still to do to make sure that the finest details are indeed fine.

Pre-stage of sanding, carving, working on tiny details, making sure that every little part is perfect before they get fired in the kiln.

Have I mentioned that I absolutely love my kiln?! :)

It’s clever, it’s reliable, it’s a perfectionist like me and… it’s shiny! LOL.
